About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Planning Support professional to join our lithographic newspaper printing operation in Broxbourne. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our production schedules run smoothly, meeting print deadlines and distribution targets across multiple products.
You’ll assist with scheduling, monitoring workflows, reporting, and supporting special editions, all while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. If you thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and enjoy keeping operations running efficiently, this is the role for you.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in preparing and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules.
- Update and maintain planning systems with production data, job specifications, and schedule changes.
- Monitor print run progress, gather production information, and report deviations from the plan.
- Support the coordination of special editions, inserts, and product enhancements.
- Track product status across pre-press, plate making, printing, finishing, and distribution stages.
- Liaise with publishers, editorial teams, and pre-press colleagues to ensure accurate product information.
- Maintain records of production schedules, run times, and output volumes.
- Produce daily performance and KPI reports, supporting analysis for efficiency improvements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance planning processes and workflow efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a manufacturing or print production environment.
- Experience with MAN PPM and/or other Press planning systems
- Strong organisational and coordination skills.
- Awareness of production scheduling, data entry, and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic office systems.
- Confident and collaborative communicator.
- Ability to use statistics to report on production output and quality.
- Experience working to tight deadlines with strong time management skills.
