About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated mechanically skilled Day Technical Services Engineer to join our Technical Services team in Broxbourne. You will ensure maximum production efficiency through preventative, planned, and corrective maintenance, working both independently and as part of a team.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who demonstrates company values at all times, taking responsibility for health and safety, quality, continuous improvement, and professional development.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver maintenance and corrective repair work with technical expertise, supporting the Technical Services team.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and management teams to maximise equipment performance.
  • Exercise sound technical judgment under general supervision or independently.
  • Provide predictive, preventative, and corrective support for production and associated equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across the site.
  • Maintain high standards of workplace housekeeping and safe working practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction and quality enhancement programs.
  • Attend training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Liaise with Team Managers, Print Teams, and fellow engineers to coordinate maintenance efforts effectively.
  • Represent the company professionally, promoting its reputation, values, and culture at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Mechanical or Multi-skilled engineering qualifications (City & Guilds Level 3, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
  • Experience in newspaper manufacturing or related production processes is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficiency in relevant technology systems, including CMMS for reporting and work management.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Commitment to health & safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
